Male Hormone Blood Test

£90

Testosterone does not act alone. Libido, mood, erections and recovery are governed by a whole axis — the signalling hormones from the brain, the oestrogen men also produce, prolactin, and the adrenal precursor DHEA. If a testosterone result alone has not explained how you feel, this panel adds the surrounding markers a clinician would look at alongside it.

You will be asked for your date of birth and mobile number at checkout — the laboratory labels every sample with your date of birth, and your results passcode is sent by text, separately from the report.

We give you access to your data — not medical advice. These tests return accurate laboratory results and general information only. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment or a clinical opinion, and they are not a substitute for professional care. Always consult a qualified medical practitioner before acting on any result. No clinician reviews or comments on your results before they reach you. If a result falls outside the reference range, or you feel unwell, contact your GP — in an emergency call 111 or 999. You must be 18 or over to order.

How it works

  1. Order online. We send a home sample-collection kit to your door in discreet plain packaging.
  2. Collect your sample at home. A simple finger-prick, following the step-by-step instructions in the kit. Morning samples are best for hormones.
  3. Post it back free. Return it the same day in the prepaid Royal Mail envelope provided.
  4. UKAS-accredited analysis. Your sample is processed in a CQC-registered, UKAS-accredited UK laboratory.
  5. Your private results. A secure, password-protected report of your numbers against reference ranges, sent as soon as the laboratory reports them.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from the Testosterone test?

The Testosterone panel measures six markers focused on testosterone itself. This one adds LH and FSH (the brain's signals to the testes), oestradiol, prolactin and DHEA sulphate — eleven markers in total, showing where in the axis an imbalance actually sits.

Why measure oestradiol in men?

Men convert some testosterone into oestradiol, and the balance between the two matters for libido, mood and erectile function. Both too little and too much can cause symptoms.

Can prolactin affect sex drive?

Raised prolactin is a recognised cause of reduced libido and erectile difficulty in men. It is a marker worth having measured before assuming testosterone is the problem.
